School
Quinn had a classroom visit to her school today.
Oh, did I mention? She's going to school this year. She'll be in the toddler (2 & 3 yr. old) room at a nearby Montessori school. She's going to go two days a week, three hours a day. I can't think of anything else better for her at this point. She is so curious and so interested in learning...she needs to be learning from someone else besides Andy and I.
The teachers had some toys set out in the classroom, and Quinn was free to explore (with her teachers watching her and talking to her) for twenty minutes. She blew through their puzzles, telling us what each shape was as she went (triangles, rectangles, diamonds, circles, octagons, pentagons and trapezoids). Honestly, I hope they have some harder ones. She loves puzzles, but she's been past the ones with the little wooden pegs for some time now. She also owns most of the books in their book area, so that wasn't very interesting for her, either. She did, however, LOVE the big wooden dollhouse they had, with many people and objects to arrange.
She was so happy exploring her room and playing with everything. Her teachers are sweet. I'm excited for her. I think she's going to do great.

yay! i know she'll do great, and all of your interactions will be richer for this experience.i've been seriously considering sending blake to a montesorri or waldorf school for the first few years of his edu-life. i have a few reservations, one of which is the large tuition and the other is the ethics of making my money from the public system but not trusting them with my boy. i think i can live with the second, though, if the first becomes less of a problem.what's on the agenda for mama parsley? resuming your job as a bungee-jump instructor? or just writing more in your damn journal? :)

I'm so excited for Miss Quinn! And she's going to LOVE coming home and telling Mama and Daddy what wonderful, exciting things she's learned! As you said, I hope they can keep her sufficiently challenged to hold her interest. * Bless Miss Quinn and Mama Lester and Daddy Lester!

She'll do great!!! You are giving her the best of both worlds....staying home with her but subjecting her to other kids and environments too. I'm pretty podunk about parenting, as I'm not one yet, but to me that is a great way to raise a child. Oh! By the way, I think Quinn's faithful readers are due some pictures! :)

Quinn is going into Montessori? Awesome! Just for a few years, or have you considered keeping her in it the whole way?
