Sweaty
I love hearing things come out of Quinn's mouth that she's heard from us in some form or another.
We spent the morning at Grandma's house, and much of that time was spent outside in the garage with just about everyone in my family, cleaning out the storage closet. It was hot out, and Quinn was very busy running around, throwing her Dora ball at whoever she could get to play with her, and then, towards the end, she started lying down on the garage floor, or out on the driveway itself, and by the time I finally took her home for her nap, she was dirty and her cheeks were red and she was a sweaty little bunny.
When we got home, I sat her on the kitchen counter, took off her shoes and socks, and got her a big cup of orange juice.
"You're so thirsty, Mama," she told me.
"Well, not really, but you sure are," I said as she drank intently from her sippy cup.
While she was drinking, I went and got a cool washcloth to wipe her face.
"Is that better, Mommy?" she asked me as I gently dabbed her face and washed her hands. "Are you all OK?"
"Yes, I'm OK. There, that feels better, doesn't it?" I asked as I finished cleaning her up and took put her juice cup in the sink.
"Yeah," she agreed. "That's better."
It's like she knows what to say, but doesn't know who to attribute actions to. When she was tired of playing at one point this morning, she came over to me, held up her arms, and said, "Mommy hold you?"
"Oh," I said, "You want Mommy to hold you?"
"Yeah!" she said.
I don't know. This probably isn't interesting to anyone else. She's been talking so much more lately, it's funny to hear her start to repeat phrases she's heard from us ("You're so thirsty!", "Is that better?"), but not in quite the correct way.
She's just the best girl.

I *love* "Mommy hold you" if only because my daughter says it everytime she wants to be held. And the other day, she was soothing herself: "It's okay, Audrey. Don't be afraid of the choo-choo train." And this morning (my last one, I swear), as she was eating her "Honeydewwww": "Remember to chew, chew, chew."Yay for Quinn and the Mama and Daddy who love her.

It's awesome to ME! Kids are the coolest, and Quinny is the coolest of them all. It's great to see kids figuring things out like that.
