Gobble gobble!

Quinn was a *naughty monkey* at the grocery store yesterday. I can't the remember the last time I took her grocery shopping, but I know she didn't act like this!

She wanted to hold everything I was putting in the cart, and when I wouldn't let her have it she would BUCK and ARCH HER BACK and STRAIN TO GET IT. And she would SCREECH and YELL. It was a little embarrassing. And then when I'd let her hold something safe, like a bag of raisins, she'd examine it for a few minutes, then casually drop it over the side of the cart.

Also, if someone stopped to talk to her or compliment her (on what, I don't know, because I saw nothing cute about these antics) she would duck her head and look away, or she'd stare at them blankly as they tried to engage her. But the people who had no interest in her? Or gave her withering looks because she was squawking so loudly? Those people got the full treatment. BOTH HANDS WAVING. ARMS OVER HEAD, RUBBING HER HAIR FETCHINGLY. A full smile, including all 8 of her teeth. "HIIIIIIIIIIIIIHHHHH" And she wouldn't give up until they acknowledged her, or I pushed her away from the scene.

LOVE THE DOLLY MOLLY! LOVE! HER!

Is anything cuter than that picture?

So, she's pulling to stand on everything--tables, chairs, legs, my prone body as I'm trying to wake up in the morning and Andy's brought her in our bed to play.

She cruises around the furniture, though not quickly.

She can high-five, give obscenely wet kisses with full tongue, and say "Baxter" and "Daddy."

When she's hungry or if food crosses her mind, she says "Yum yum yum num yum num!" With her tongue sticking out. When she's eating, she says the same thing, usually as she launches her food off the tray.

She's learning to go up stairs.

She loves the Teletubbies perhaps more than me. The other day I started singing the song: "Tinky Winky! Dipsy! La la! Po!" and she whipped her head around to look at the TV, as if she was missing something.

She dances with her arms only to any music, any singing, any poorly-produced radio jingle. My girl, she has the funk!

I'm so thankful that she came to live with us, and that she's happy and healthy and gives wet kisses. She's just the best bunny.

You know my daughter Payton is almost 14 months and does almost exactly the same thing at the grocery store, except we go together a lot. When she was younger I found a prepackaged bag of spinach would entertain her for a long time for some odd reason. Now she just does the take and drop constantly. She loves to rip my list out of my hand and then throw it somewhere.

My baby Audrey also has 8 teeth. She was born on January 18 th, 2002. Gee Quinn an her have a couple of 8's in common.......lol. Your daughter is so cute. The store story was funny. Sorry I had to laugh, it would be so cute to see her at the store doing that. I'd be the girl saying "All look at that cute baby trying to shop".
