new tricks
Quinn has a few new tricks to add to her act:
First, she's found out that she can make sounds that are not dainty coos. She now belts out loud, one-tone honks when she's happy. Over. And over. And over. It was funny at first, and I called everyone to listen to her, but now, a few days later, when we hear her start up we brace ourselves for five or ten minutes of bleating from the bunny.
Secondly, she is fearful of strangers who are loud. I took her to visit her Uncle Dennis at work and swarms of women materialized once they smelled a baby in the office (of course!). The attention freaked her out and she started crying.
And the other day, while I was feeding her, the doorbell rang (which makes Baxter go crazy--barking and leaping at the window next to the door and generally carrying on as if Old Scratch himself has arrived to take us away) and I ran to get it. It was Danny and Maureen, and between Danny's dramatic hello and my excited babbling to see some (semi) adults, it was too much for Quinn and she let out this high-pitched cry that I'd never heard before. She was only consoled by sucking on her bottle from the safety of my lap, keeping one fish eye on Danny.
She eventually warmed up, though, and allowed me to take some pictures:

The pixs and stories about Quinn are fabulous, and this is the only weblog I ever read any more!

What a cute story and picture, and a cute child. And if i do say so myself what two fine specimens of teenage hottie's. Just adorable, and i didn't know i had that much of a dramatic hello.

Quinn looks like she is not sure if these people should be holding her.
