Here's what's going on with our move, for those of you who are on the edge of your seats:

* We close on both houses Wednesday, August 6. Seven days from now. Zoiks!

* Because neither party will be flexible about us staying in our current house a few hours after close or getting into the new house a few hours before close, we will be having the movers move us out of here on Tuesday afternoon and move us into the new house on Thursday morning. This means two days of us being homeless.

* We had an appointment to measure for new carpeting at our new house on Monday at 1:00. At 12:50, when our realtor had driven about 45 minutes to get to us, when Andy had left work, when the carpeting guy had traveled to the new house, the people who are currently in the house decided we couldn't come in and we had to turn around and go home. They are now Asshats on the same level as the people who ditched out on our home sale. They're already living in their new house, but their realtor said they're mad at us because the date of the close changed (which was beyond our control). So they're punishing us. This from the family who has a copy of the Bible next to every toilet. And you know what else? They're slobs! I peeked in the windows after I heard we couldn't get in to do the carpet measure, and they are SLOBS. That place better be picked up when we move in.
