4-16-03: Lying in bed
Why am I 33 years old and addicted to Mtv's "Sorority Life"?
Why, when Andy and I were lying in bed talking the other night, did I have to ask him how old I am? Why didn't I know?
Andy and I have some of our best conversations before we go to sleep. One night we were talking about goiters.
"What's a goiter?" he asked.
"It's a lump. A growth. I think it's usually in your neck." Then I sat up, excited. "I have a picture of a woman with a goiter! Do you want me to go get it??"
And I do. A woman at the nursing home I used to work at had a goiter. Her name was Harriet, and I loved her. LOVED HER. But he didn't want to see her picture.
The other night we were just lying there silently.
"Have you ever smoked pot?" I asked him out of nowhere. He laughed. "No, come on," I told him. "Have you?"
"I haven't," he said. "But I thought about smoking pot with a woman with a goiter!"

I'm 38 and I love Sorority LIfe and Fraternity LIfe, too!
I am 33 and I watch way too much MTV in general.
Oh, and the other day I couldn't remember how old I was and I had to count it out on my fingers!
Sad but true!
I blame my love for all things MTV on the fact that we didn't have it when I was a kid and I only got cable after I moved out on my own. So it's perfectly okay that at 29 I'll watch the entire Real World Road Rules Marathon on a Sunday because I have some catching up to do. And I hate Sororities and Fraternities in real life but they are great to watch on TV.
Ooh, pretty redesign! And I like that you're writing so much more! More Amy! :)
Hey doll! I've not seen Sorority Life/Frat Life, but I'm glad that YOU can watch it for me! :) (In fact, if it wasn't for VCRs, I probably wouldn't get watch any TV at all.
If I haven't said it already, I love the redesign! Wonderful! Loverly!
The Baxter post made me smile. We don't have any pets, but whenever ANYONE makes any loud noises or even THINKS about making loud noises while Sweet Pea is sleeping, I get the urge to say "SSSHHH!!!" in my sternest "librarian" tone. Especially if it's at night. I'll just get her to sleep and the neighbor with the loud motorcycle will start it up/return home... I swear his motorcycle is 10 times louder than the hubby's motorcycle. It makes me want to go out there and holler at him like a fish wife, then take his motorcycle keys away from him. I think, though, if she EVER gets around to sleeping through the night EVERY night, I might not be so cranky about it.
Hubby & I are the same way, we have our best talks in bed before we fall asleep (on a side note; it's amazing we remember them really). :)
I enjoy Sorority Life as well, but then again - I am only almost 20... Hmm.
And if you're wondering just WHO I am.. I found your site from ABC (TLOL/ABC boards) a year or two ago. ;)
