I found out today that I won a Diarist award. The Legacy Award, to be exact. Here's what the site says about this award:
* The Legacy Award (Hall of Fame)
Recognizes sites and authors that have made a significant contribution to the genre, whether in quality writing or design, longevity, mentoring, increasing general awareness of the art, or simply active participation in the journalling community. General, positive recognition within the community as a whole is a factor. Sites that are no longer online are eligible, provided there is general consensus as to its name and the identity of its author.
I'm very flattered, and while I'm not certain I "mentored" anybody (the only person I've really worked on to start a journal still hasn't done it), and I doubt I've "increased general awareness of the art," I'm proud of this site and amazed I've stuck with it so long. Last month was my five-year anniversary. I started my journal before I was married, before I was a mom.
If you have feedback about the design, please let me know. I'm still working on it, but Andy slapped it up tonight so I'd get off his butt about helping me. Watching him futz with Movable Type was like watching him communicate in a foreign language. I'm grateful to have a computer geek on-call. If it weren't for him, I wouldn't even have a journal.

Amy... yr my journaling hero... you write real good... and you keep at it... more more than less (it's late for me... excuse my moronic syntax). You absolutely deserve that Legacy thingy.
I've just lately been messing with blogger... been thinking about Movable Type... really like yr new look ... eay on the eyes...elegant... friendly...

i like the design, 'cept that the window seems to be too small for the text. a couple of words each line get cut off to the right. trying to be helpful...
The words on the right are getting cut off on my screen also. It looks good, though.

Wow, love the new look! And congrats on the award. I would have to whole-heartedly agree with the mentoring thing. I have read every single entry and believe it or not, some have really been helpful for some reason or another in my life. If only for a great laugh or a good cry, I enjoy coming here and reading what you have to say. Your life entertains me!! And of course, Quinn is such a cutey, who wouldn't want to come here and look at her sweet face? :)
Yeah, the text's getting cut off on the right side of my screen, too - other than that, it looks great! :)

As far as the new look goes, I like it too! I'm also having the same issue with the text being cut off.

The window is cutting words off on my browser too. I'm using IE 6, it if matters.
